New York City is known around the world for its excellent culinary scene. What I didn’t know is that restaurants are VERY accommodating when it comes to allergies, intolerances, and preferences. I am not vegan; but my severe dairy intolerance makes eating vegan the safest option when I go out. Below you will find my favorite vegan restaurants in NYC!

Candle 79

Candle 79 is hands down one of the best vegan restaurants in NYC. The inventive dishes combine traditional meals with a veggie based twist and they are to die for! They serve the “Beyond Burger” and some Seitan dishes; as well as hand cut pasta, creative veggie entrees and unbelievable deserts. Seriously.. you have to check this place out!

Paulie Gee`s Pizza

The thought of going to NYC and not being able to have pizza? Terrible! Luckily for us Paulie Gee`s has a whole page of vegan pizza options and the are PHENOMENAL! Seriously.. I have never had vegan pizza that didn’t taste like vegan pizza until Paulie Gee`s. They also have a ton of great regular pizzas so you will have no problems convincing your not-so-vegan friends to join. There is always a line out the door but trust me; this place is worth the wait.
